Welcome Eliza Katherine Meiners

I'm so thankful to the Lord that He doesn't take our doubts and make them realities.  He must get so tired of my doubting His love and care and that He knows what is best.

May 2nd I left for our son Wil's to help the family as they welcomed child #2 into the world.  Amy's due date was May 6th (although an early ultrasound indicated the 4th) and induction date May 10th.  Although we prayed often that the baby would come on her due date, in my heart I just didn't think she would.  We planned my trip to be there May3-14 to cover all possible dates.  But, if she came on the 10th, it would only leave me a few days to help with some of the adjustments, especially for Eliana (2 1/2 years old).  Well, on May 6th, 1ish am, Eliza Katherine was born.  Wil and Amy left for the hospital around 11:30pm the night before so although intense, Amy's labor was pretty short.  So, once again, I'm learning to pray believing and trusting that whatever happens will be for our good and His glory.  So I thank Jesus so much for the timing of this birth.

My computer also stopped working while I was with Wil and Amy.  It was so frustrating and hard since it was my "life-line" to Paul who was still in London.  Thursday Wil took it to a shop to be assessed and the computer expert was confused by what it was doing.  So, it wasn't fixed on Friday, they weren't open on Saturday and I was leaving on Tuesday.  So, although I was praying, in my heart I just didn't think it would get fixed in time or even at all.  And, once again, Jesus didn't look at my doubting heart and give me what I deserved, but rather what He kindly knew I wanted.  Monday morning it was fixed and has been running great since.  And so I thank the Lord for this gift of technology.  Meanwhile, Wil was able to show my on my I Touch how to send email and skype so I was able to keep in touch with Paul which was wonderful for me and for him.

My time with the Meiners was so great.  Eliana was such fun and not shy in the least.  I think skyping each week helped her to know me.  We are grateful to Wil and Amy for that time each Sunday that we can talk with them and see Eliana and now Eliza.  I can see how it really helped.

Eliana and I did lots of fun stuff together as well as shared a room (I was on the top bunk).  Some days I was feeling my 61 years as I climbed up and down (smile).  It was such a privilege to be with Wil and Amy.  I loved being able to care for them, cook food, play with Eliana, sit and talk.  And what fun it was to help welcome Eliza into their family.  It was neat seeing Eliana so quickly love  her and want to be with her.  Her first words as we walked into the hospital room to meet her for the first time were "She's so cute!".  She's been loving on her ever since!

I also got to be with our youngest daughter, Anna, at the beginning of the trip and at the end.  She's pretty special and I loved having time together.  She came up to Wil and Amy's for Mother's Day and to claim her rights as "favorite aunt" to Eliana and Eliza.  We spent my last morning in the US just talking and enjoying breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  I'm very grateful for our friendship.

Now, I'm back in London getting over jet lag, enjoying being with Paul, and catching up on my real life.  The Lord is good to me in giving me such wonderful memories to cherish and the hope of seeing some of our kids and grandkids in July.  If you are interested in seeing more pictures here's link to try.  I guess you have to copy and paste.                                                         http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152182935557565&set=a.10152182935192565.1073741826.624702564&type=1&theater

So glad it was such a great time, mom. And for how God provided for you.
